Dell Inspiron 11z

The Inspiron 11z is a new netbook from Dell, hoping to alter the way they think of the ultra-portable segment. On paper the processor has more grunt, & when paired with X4500 integrated graphics, it has a large advantage over Atom machines. In this review they take an in-depth look at the new 11z, to see if it is the netbook they have all been waiting for.

Dell XPS M2010

The Dell XPS M2010 is Dell’s one of the most featured laptop which brings out lots of quality in it. This laptop qualifies to be a personal computer which you can put in home or office and obviously it would be alittle hard for you to move around.

The technique isn’t as powerful as a full on desktop or as useable as a laptop, but provides some luxuries of both segments that uniquely creates a tantalizing plus seductive combination that may be what you are looking for, or maybe not.

Dell XPS M1710

The M1710 (N04XPS7) is the bigger sister of the M1210 and, like its smaller sibling; it is very different in appearance to the rest of the Dell laptop range. It is powerful, too; in fact it is one of the most powerful notebooks currently available. The M1710 comes in six colors – Metallic Black (our review sample) or Formula Red – and, as is becoming for a member of the XPS clan, lights to shame a Christmas tree.

Dell Inspiron 1520

The Dell Inspiron 1520 under review here is the latest 15.4” in an ever-growing succession of what can be categorized as “consumer mainstream” notebooks offered by Dell’s Home & Home Office division. Since the release of the 1520, Dell has also made obtainable a very similar machine, the Vostro 1500, which can be purchased from the Small Business site. Unlike the Inspiron 1520, which can be configured with any one of two different colors, the Vostro 1500 is solid black. The Vostro also provides a Windows XP option, which is unavailable in the Inspiron 1520.

It should also be noted, for the benefit of anyone who is somewhat new to this website, that there is plenty of additional information on the 1520, including an excellent full-featured review by anybody who actually purchased the 1520, plus a side-by-side comparison of the 1520 plus the HP dv6500t; this comparison includes a video that is definitely worth watching for anyone considering the Inspiron 1520, the HP dv6500t or any other 15.4” consumer notebook.

Dell Inspiron 1720

This laptop competes against such notebooks as the HP dv9500t and Toshiba P200/P205. The 1720 offers a wide range of hardware configurations, as well as 8 different color options to be customized exactly as you require it. Processors range from the T5250 all the way up to the T7700, RAM from 1GB to 4GB, HD from 120GB to 500GB (250GB x 2), display resolutions starting at WXGA+ up to WUXGA, and color ranging from jet black to sunshine yellow.

Dell Inspiron 1525

The Dell Inspiron 1525 falls in the section of a small expensive budget notebooks offering good range of features & performance. It aims to handle everyday computing tasks with ease & looks good while doing them. It’s an updated version of Inspiron 1520 which was a fatter & weightier brother of 1525. You can already see the 1525 making way into lots of homes & here is something that they experienced after using the tool. Read on to find our opinion.

Dell Inspiron 6400

The Inspiron 6400 is a replacement laptop with a desktop computer, offering up familiar silver and white-accented design that is common to the Inspiron line. It is not exactly a stunner, but you certainly won’t be ashamed to tote it around whilst in the public eye.

The 6400’s chassis is constructed mostly from a soft plastic, so scratching and denting may be an issue for those that use their notebooks haphazardly. Regardless, the 6400 will likely stay on your table for most of its existence. Its 2.8kg heft is far from feather-weight, and you’ll definitely start grumbling after walking with it for 20 minutes or more. It is fine for shorter distances, but true mobility can only be found in a sub-2kg offering such as the Sony VAIO VGN-TX27GP.

Dell Inspiron 1501

The new Dell 1501 which is quite a low priced notebook with the AMD processor. It is also Vista capable & Premium ready, something you are not going to find with run-of-the-mill value notebooks. The 1501 gives you solid performance at a decent price, but what you gain in savings you lose in functionality. When they wanted to raise or lower the volume of a DVD or skip chapters, they had to use the software’s far less intuitive controls.

Dell XPS M1730

A simple glance at the M1730 establishes that this laptop is not for those who do not require showing off. There is no other laptop like this on the market. For starters, the M1730 is absolutely enormous; its weight starts at 10.6 pounds and is one inch thick.

The XPS M1730 is Dell’s new 17-inch high-performance gaming laptop, the replacement for the aging M1710. It is based on the latest Intel Santa Rosa platform and features cutting-edge Nvidia GeForce SLI graphics.

Dell chose an intimidating design process for their flagship laptop. The visible exterior has a deep glossy black surface with a ‘hydrographic’ design pattern. The intricacy of the design can best be seen in a well-lit room. The back of the lid deserves special attention – one clear plastic windowed areas on the sides have a color background that is illuminated by the LED lights; our check unit has the Smoke Grey panels. The XPS M1730 is also available with Sapphire Blue, Crimson Blue, and Bone White. In the center of the lid is a large shiny Dell logo illuminated by a bright white LED backlight. The lid is an instant attention-grabber and the most visually striking part of the M1730 in this reviewer’s opinion. The speakers in the front of the machine are illuminated by LED lights as is the touchpad and its buttons. While the LED lights on the back of the lid do not alter colors, the ones on the front can. All the colors in the rainbow are available (more or less) and each speaker as well as the touchpad can be individually controlled by the Dell QuickSet software. The keyboard is LED backlit and visually impressive. This is the first machine I’ve ever tested with a backlit keyboard and I would like to see more notebooks implement this feature. It is useful in low light scenarios and for those late-night gaming sessions.

Dell XPS M1330

If any single laptop can bring Dell out of its recent slump, the XPS M1330 is it. This portable’s combination of light weight, stylish design, powerful performance, & built-in mobile broadband makes it a top choice for business travelers & hipsters alike (view photo gallery). Add in a stellar screen & keyboard & long battery life, & you have three of the top contenders for laptop of the year.
The M1330’s soft-touch, crimson exterior is a new look for Dell, but the round logo on the lid is reminiscent of the three on the XPS M1210, this system’s predecessor. Only 4.8 pounds (or as light as 4 pounds, depending on the battery), our configuration came with a built-in webcam, nine-cell battery, & travel remote. Although the VGA webcam no longer swivels as it did on the M1210, this three comes with tons of capabilities by program, including pan & zoom, face tracking, & special effects. All the webcam features worked reasonably well, & the picture was bright & clear, albeit washed out.

Along the right side you’ll find an ExpressCard slot (with a mini remote control inside), a slot-loading DVD+/-RW drive, a Wi-Fi Catcher, & three USB 2.0 port. The left side houses another USB port, along with FireWire, VGA, Ethernet, & HDMI ports. An 8-in-1 memory card reader, dual headphones jacks, as well as a microphone jack grace the front.
