When all the who's-who gets figured out, this decidedly unromantic comedy shifts into autopilot with Lee trapped in a rote series of compromising positions. Every outcome is telegraphed far in advance, and true love takes its course with numbing efficiency. The six-disc set includes all 24 episodes, which aired on CBS during 2005-2006. Returning are happy-go-lucky ladies' man Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly, Dark Angel), forensics expert and resident Goth chick Abby Sciuto (Pauley Perrette), medical examiner Dr. Donald "Ducky" Mallard (David McCallum, The Man from U.N.C.L.E), and agent Timothy McGee (Sean Murray). Former Mossad intelligence officer Ziva David (Cote de Pablo) joins the close-knit cast, as does Jennifer Shepard (Lauren Holly, Dumb & Dumber) as the new NCIS director. Working on a daily basis with Shepard initially makes Gibbs wary. Not only is she a former girlfriend, but she also was his underling at one time. Equal parts CSI and JAG, NCIS works primarily because of its quirky cast, which is able to take sometimes regurgitated ideas and rework them into something engagingly watchable. Throughout this season, we will see agents endangered and framed, and one will accidentally kill an undercover detective who may not have been armed. Look Who's Talking Too [1991]Se flere produkter fra AmazonIf nothing else, the powers that be behind this terrible sequel to the 1989 hit Look Who's Talking will be divinely punished for abusing John Lennon's "Jealous Guy" on the soundtrack. Until then, it's better to push memories of this movie to the back of one's memory. John Travolta and Kirstie Alley reprise their roles from the earlier film, but this time their married relationship is in trouble for sundry reasons. Adding to that complication is the arrival of a new baby (whined by Roseanne Barr) to join the previous one (quipped by Bruce Willis). Mel Brooks and Damon Wayans add their voices to those of some other kids, but this hastily patched-together follow-up wouldn't be funny no matter how may comic minds you threw in the mix. Between the shoddy script and miscasting of Barr, there's enough doom to go around in this thing, but an opening-credits sequence that manages, through crummy special effects, to turn a sperm's path toward an egg into a nauseating experience doesn't help. Romeo And Juliet [1996]Se flere produkter fra AmazonWhile perhaps not the defining moment in the making of Leonardo DiCaprio's career, his appearance in this dazzling take on William Shakepeare's Romeo & Juliet back in 1996 did the careers of both Clare Danes and himself no harm at all. Perhaps the real star of the show here though is director Baz Luhrmann, who employs a frenetic, at times downright-brilliant style to the age-old tale of tale of star-crossed lovers. Luhrmann would go on to make Moulin Rouge a few years' later. From the off, his take on Romeo & Juliet explodes unpredictably onto the screen, bubbling with vision and originality, accompanied throughout by an excellent score and soundtrack that rightly spawned two spin-off CDs. There are sacrifices made along the way to support Luhrmann's vision though, with the text being stripped down to leave the core of the story in tact, and that's just one of a number of complaints that Shakespeare purists may have. And yet, perhaps more than any other attempt to bring the work of the Bard to the screen of late, this is an extremely accessible entry-point to Shakepeare's work. That it's also by turns breathtaking, dazzling and a sheer joy to watch doesn't harm its cause either. The two leads are charming, the support cast backs them up superbly, and the end result is one of the most interesting visual treats that Hollywood mustered up throughout the 1990s.-- Simon Brew Fragt: Ukendt! |

Ryu is a brilliant young fighter worried that his technique may yet corrupt him into monstrousness; the boy Shun appears, claiming to be his brother and already well on the way to corruption by the technique known as the Dark Hadou. When Shun is kidnapped by an evil scientist, Ryu goes after him in spite of the possible cost to his own moral status; his friend Ken and Interpol agent Chen go along to help him, and if necessary to kill him to prevent his corruption. This is largely by-the-numbers martial arts anime, but at times exciting or beautiful for all of that; devotees of the game will love it. On the DVD: The DVD is generously stacked with English and Japanese soundtracks and English subtitles. The light-show presentation is closer kin to another contemporary Irish musical group, U2. Flatley himself has gone designer chic. With close-cropped haircut, earring, buffed abs,and tight black pants he bears more than a passing resemblance to Bono. But you have to hand it to the guy--he works hard for the money, as does his attractive corps. The one maddening aspect of this glitzy, entertaining 90-minute festival is the overzealous editing. No image remains on screen for more than a few seconds.
