	Diary Of The Dead [Blu-ray] [2007] Se flere produkter fra Amazon George A Romero continues his revival of his iconic zombie franchise with Diary Of The Dead, the fifth film in a series that kicked off back in 1968 with Night Of The Living Dead. And while his latest doesn't manage to match the heights of the earlier films, there's still something refreshing about watching a genuine master of the genre at work. This time around then, Diary Of The Dead heads a little back to basics, with a film that follows a group of amateur filmmakers who find themselves under siege from zombies, allowing the legendary director to take some less-than-subtle swipes at the YouTube generation. Sadly, his cast don't help him very much, ringing in primarily forgettable performances, and this certainly nullifies some of the points that Romero tries to make. Yet when it comes to the zombie action, there's no number you'd call faster than Romero's, and here's where the great man delivers. Diary Of The Dead does work along the law of diminishing returns, and is the weakest of the series, but it's not without a general collection of skilful moments that fans of the genre won't want to miss. Diary Of The Dead isn't a film that you need to have seen the others before it to appreciate, but it is a primarily quite ordinary film from an often-extraordinary director. 	Dracula [1931] Se flere produkter fra Amazon When Universal Pictures picked up the movie rights to a Broadway adaptation of Dracula, they felt secure in handing the property over to the sinister team of actor Lon Chaney and director Tod Browning. But Chaney died of cancer, and Universal hired the Hungarian who had scored a success in the stage play: BÃ©la Lugosi. The resulting film launched both Lugosi's baroque career and the horror-movie cycle of the 1930s. It gets off to an atmospheric start, as we meet Count Dracula in his shadowy castle in Transylvania, superbly captured by the great cinematographer Karl Freund. Eventually Dracula and his blood-sucking devotee (Dwight Frye, in one of the cinema's truly mad performances) meet their match in a vampire-hunter called Van Helsing (Edward Van Sloan). If the later sections of the film are undeniably stage bound and a tad creaky, Dracula nevertheless casts a spell, thanks to Lugosi's creepily lugubrious manner and the eerie silences of Browning's directing style. (After a mood-enhancing snippet of Swan Lake under the opening titles, there is no music in the film.) Frankenstein, which was released a few months later, confirmed the horror craze, and Universal has been making money (and countless spin-off projects) from its twin titans of terror ever since. Certainly the role left a lasting impression on the increasingly addled and drug-addicted Lugosi, who was never quite able to distance himself from the part that made him a star. 	Germany 1 England 5 [2001] Se flere produkter fra Amazon Germany 1, England 5 commemorates the game that elevated coach Sven-Goran Eriksson to his (albeit temporary) status as greatest living man in England, after an unforeseen and unforgettable pummelling of the team England love to hate. September 1, 2001, will linger long in the memory as the day England travelled to Munich for a vital World Cup qualifier against Germany and quickly went one-down in time-honoured tradition. Lest we forget, only a few months previously Germany had soiled the last ever international at Wembley with a victory that sent little Kevin Keegan into a spiral of self-loathing; they boasted a 28-year unbeaten home record; and the hosts had already booked alternative matches on the World Cup play-off dates that this 5-1 result hilariously forced them to change. You'll know the story--a Michael Owen hat-trick, plus superb strikes from Steven Gerrard and Emile Heskey, as the Germans look on aghast--but the magic of that late summer evening is worth wallowing in again. The pictures and commentary are from the BBC--Motson and Brooking (with no option to turn them off, unfortunately)--and you get the full 90-minutes, all the relevant replays you could wish for, plus the pre-match build-up and some post-match reaction interviews from the night itself. This is a cherished snapshot of a sporting moment when anything seemed possible for England. On the DVD: Germany 1, England 5 on disc comes with a reasonable selection of extras--though the lack of alternative commentaries cuts down on the repeat-viewing appeal. "Player Cams" are not alternative takes of the match but mini-montages of action featuring Beckham, Owen, Gerrard, Heskey and Scholes. "Goal Frenzy" offers extended montages of the goals themselves. 	Carry On Follow That Camel [1967] Se flere produkter fra Amazon In Carry On Follow That Camel, Sergeant Bilko himself, Phil Silvers, lends lustre and trademark spectacles to this 1967 desert spectacle following the adventures of a group of foreign legionnaires who find themselves besieged by a bloodthirsty band of Bedouins. Silvers plays Sergeant Nocker, a rogue cast firmly in the Bilko mould, who takes a dislike to new recruit Jim Dale, a young upper class gent forced to join the legion following disgrace at a cricket match. He's accompanied, naturally, by his faithful manservant (Peter Butterworth), with the pair showing a fine disregard for the austere requirements of the Foreign Legion. However, once they reach an agreement with Sergeant Nocker, they can join forces to repel the Bedouins, led, not unpredictably, by Bernard Bresslaw. This is vintage Carry On, in spite of Sid James' absence. Kenneth Williams' performance is subdued by having to deliver the usual puns ("zere are a couple of points I still need to go over", he informs busty Joan Sims) in a mangled French accent but Silvers gets into the right mode of delivering broad comedy with subtle inflections. Peter Butterworth draws the short straw this time and must feature in the obligatory cross-dressing scene, while Charles Hawtrey is a splendidly unconvincing hardened legionnaire. As for Bresslaw, can any other British actor, with the exception of Sir Alec Guinness, have distinguished himself in such a variety of multi-ethnic roles? 	Shaolin Soccer [2001] Se flere produkter fra Amazon Computer generated special effects have seldom been so giddy as in Shaolin Soccer, a gleeful fusion of kung fu and a classic Bad News Bears sports story. A former soccer star--whose "golden leg" was broken by a hired mob--assembles a team of former students of Shaolin martial arts, whose assorted skills (indicated by their nicknames, like Mighty Steel Leg and Iron Head) lend themselves to the swift interplay of the world's most popular game. Along the way, the team's leader (Hong Kong comic superstar Stephen Chow) meets a sticky bun baker (Vicki Zhao) whose kung fu is the equal of any of his teammates. Shaolin Soccer is supremely silly--in the final match, their opponents are called Team Evil--but that's part of the fun. 	Frasier - Season 10 Se flere produkter fra Amazon "Irritating, but endearing." That's Frasier Crane in a nutshell, as diagnosed by Julia Wilcox (an Emmy-worthy Felicity Huffman), KCAL's abrasive and condescending new financial analyst. That's a delicate balance, but Kelsey Grammer still manages it with the usual aplomb in Frasier's penultimate season. Grammer is at his best when his character is at his stubborn, high dudgeon worst, as in "Enemy at the Gate" when he causes a parking garage backup while protesting a $2 parking fee, trying to find a suitable new coffee shop after CafÃ© Nervosa hires a folk singer (Elvis Costello) in "Farewell, Nervosa," or, after scamming his way into becoming a silver level member at an exclusive health spa, "chasing the eternal carrot" of the gold level ("'Please remain in the relaxation grotto.' Have crueler words ever been spoken?") in "Door Jam." But he wins us over anew as he does the hard-hearted Julia with his insistence on doing the right thing and faith in the good in people. Frasier's tenth season takes a dramatic turn early on with a three-episode arc in which Niles (David Hyde Pierce) undergoes heart surgery, but, much like Niles, the show rebounds quickly with more characteristic episodes such as the Emmy-nominated farce "Daphne Does Dinner," in which another Crane party hurtles toward disaster. In addition to Huffman, other memorable star turns this season include Millicent Martin as Daphne's impossible mother, Jeanne Tripplehorn as a coach whose berating of her students causes Frasier to conjure up hallucinations of his own former gym teacher, portrayed by Bob Hoskins. Bebe Neuwirth returns as Lilith, as does the magnificent Harriet Sansom Harris as Bebe Glazer, who shows up as Dr. Phil's agent (or is it just another Bebe scheme?) in "The Devil and Dr. Phil." There are throughout this season some wonderful play-it-again moments, such as the unwitting Frasier speaking Klingon at his son's bar mitzvah and invoking Sam Malone's classic, "Are you as turned on as I am" to bring a shouting match with Julia to an hila Inkl. fragt: Ukendt	Pris 159.08,-
	Play It To The Bone [2000] Se flere produkter fra Amazon In Play it to the Bone, best friends Vince (Woody Harrelson) and Cesar (Antonio Banderas) are both down-on-their-luck boxers who've suddenly been given a highly visible fight and a promised shot at the middleweight title--only they have to fight each other. With Grace (Lolita Davidovich), Cesar's current girlfriend and Vince's ex, they drive to Las Vegas. Unsurprisingly, the trip opens up hidden resentments, regrets, and mistakes from the past. What's more surprising is how meandering and shapeless Play It to the Bone is; writer-director Ron Shelton is responsible for such charming and sprightly sports films as Bull Durham, White Men Can't Jump, and Tin Cup, but boxing doesn't seem to have inspired him. The actual boxing match does achieve a kind of brutal energy, though it's curiously filled with gratuitous hallucinations of female nudity. Still, Harrelson and Banderas have a nice rapport, and in their best moments they just yammer at each other, not exactly listening but still communing in a kind of rhythmic groove. 	24: Complete Season 6 [2007] [2002] Se flere produkter fra Amazon The further adventures of Los Angeles' Counter Terrorism Unit's finest initially sees Kiefer Sutherland's Jack Bauer in a Chinese prison and not in good shape. But, this being 24, it's not too long before the breakneck plot has revved into gear, and the wheels are turning again on a frantic real-time ride that's thoroughly in the tradition of what's become television's finest thriller. You won't be finding plot spoilers here, because half the fun of 24 is not knowing what unexpected twist the scriptwriters have for you around the next corner. All that matters is that the world is under threat, and it's up to Jack Bauer to lead the fightback. And it's Kiefer Sutherland that's the real asset to series six; whereas particularly in season five he took a sideways step to accommodate stronger supporting characters, here he's shouldering a greater degree of the show's narrative thrust. You'd be hard pushed to declare that season six is vintage 24, but that's more to do with the context of particularly the excellent run that preceded it. But few shows can match its audacious verve, and repeated ability to surprise and enthral. So while season six may have too many villains, and may ask you to bear with it through a few troughs, there's still nothing out there to match it. 	Spider-Man Trilogy [Blu-ray] [2002] Se flere produkter fra Amazon The case for the Blu-ray high definition format is considerably, and immediately, strengthened by the appearance of one of cinema's most lucrative franchises of recent times. Each of the Spider-man films have amassed extraordinary sums of money, and they're gathered here together in this glorious high-definition set. Ironically for a trilogy, it's the second film that's the strongest, although let's not jump ahead. The first Spider-man, for instance, introduces us to Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire), and covers the genesis of the infamous superhero. Set against Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin, it's a deft, impressive and entertaining blockbuster, albeit one that takes a little longer than you'd like to get motoring. Spider-man 2 is the business, though. This is the one with Alfred Molina's stunning Doctor Octopus, although he has to share the screen with the title character contending with his dual life, and the effect on his relationship with Mary-Jane (Kirsten Dunst). It could have gone wrong, but it's so tightly put together that it's one of the very best blockbusters of recent times. Spider-man 3, inevitably, can't quite match the standard set, but you can't fault it for ambitious. Mixing in Topher Grace as Venom, Thomas Haden Church as Sandman and James Franco as the new Green Goblin, it's a lot to fit into one film, and that's what bogs things down. However, when it does hit its stride, Spider-man 3 is a rip-roaring ride in its own right. Exclusive to the Blu-ray format in high definition, this is undoubtedly the cinematic purist's best way to enjoy the Spider-man films at home. John Candy, in one of his last roles, is touching as a disgraced coach who seizes the opportunity to work with the Jamaicans as a chance for redemption. The bobsled scenes look good and the races are exciting. Cats & Dogs is an effects-laden family film that mystifies cat fanciers by casting dogs as the undisputed heroes in all-out warfare with nefarious felines. Hidden headquarters and high-tech gadgets are featured on both sides of this age-old battle. On the feline side, the long-haired Persian Mr. Tinkles (voice of Sean Hayes) plots to sabotage the efforts of Professor Brody (Jeff Goldblum) to discover a cure for human allergies to dogs. On the canine side, stalwart shepherd Butch (voice of Alec Baldwin) trains the mistakenly recruited beagle puppy Lou (voice of Tobey Maguire) to foil Mr. Tinkles's scheme--a mission that begins when Mrs. Brody (Elizabeth Perkins) adopts Lou for her son Scott (Alexander Pollock). Using combinations of live animals, animatronic puppets and digital wizardry, Cats & Dogs has just enough imagination to match its effects, climaxing with a feline global-domination scheme involving mice sprayed with chemicals that will make all humans allergic to dogs. Goldblum and Perkins gamely play second fiddles to this menagerie of mayhem and, as madcap "realism" gives way to cartoonish fantasy, the movie escalates into utter chaos, burdened by lame jokes but highlighted by a furry supporting cast including a Saluki hound (voice of Susan Sarandon), a shaggy sheepdog (voice of Michael Clarke Duncan), and a Chinese hairless techno-geek named Peek (voice of Joe Pantoliano).
