Iron StormSe flere produkter fra AmazonIron Storm is set in 1964, in a macabre alternate reality where WWI has raged on for over 50 years. The Great War is now fought between the Allies (including Germany) against the massed ranks of Baron Ugenbergs Russo-Mongolian Empire. The war has been extended and continued by nasty corporations keen to keep profits high through sales of munitions and weapons. You control Lt James Anderson on missions over the top and into enemy territory. Lt Anderson is controlled either in first or second-person mode. Available to the player is a healthy arsenal of weapons: from gas grenades to the ever so Gatling-like machine guns. The game's creators have tried to instil a level of realism, in that Lt Anderson can only carry a set number of certain types of weapons. Do you keep hold of the bazooka or do you pick up the big machine gun?... Graphically the game does seem a bit dated; the animation also seems a lot less fluid then some more recent FPS titles. However the settings fit with the dark world of trench warfare, grubby tunnels and concrete bunkers are among the first few levels. Although Iron Storm is very linear and also very frustrating in places (bomb dogs being very, very annoying), it does have a good sense of fun and satisfaction.
