Nokia E71 Review

You can also use the pre-installed Nokia Maps for navigating around town. It does everything that Google Maps Mobile does, but with a few extras, including being able to save screenshot & voice navigation, but you will have to pay for the latter.

A little but noteworthy feature is the E71’s start page. It cleverly lets you display emails, apps & other features, but that is not all. You can set up two start page for home & two for work, flicking between the two depending on what you’re up to. It is useful if you like to keep sure aspects of your life separate, such as work & personal emails.

For a phone with so many features, they were impressed with how long it could last on two charges. In our real-world testing, they used GPS, Wi-Fi & HSDPA regularly throughout the day, & they managed to squeeze two days out of the battery before it needed recharging. If you require expanding battery life even further, switching off all non-essential connections, such as Wi-Fi & HSDPA, helps significantly.
The they are slightly domed, so you can press two easily without hitting a neighboring letter by accident. The buttons for picking up & hanging up calls next to the pad are a little on the little side but they are easy to get used to.

The screen’s size & resolution is nothing to write home about – it is 2.36in across at a standard 320 x 240 & it is not a touch screen – but the quality is outstanding. It is bright, clear, & transflective, so when you take it outside in bright sunshine it is as readable as it is indoors.

It’s full HSDPA support, on top of GPRS, EDGE & standard 3G. It is a quad-band phone, for use all around the globe. It’s Wi-Fi, Bluetooth & an FM radio tuner, for when the email gets much for you. & it’s a 3.2-megapixel camera complete with LED flash on the rear coupled with a VGA video call camera on the front.

The maps which are on this phone are not as fast & responsive as Google Maps, you can use it as a proper sat-nav device, complete with turn-by-turn driving instructions. There is no longer support for BlackBerry Connect, where this is obtainable for the E61.

Final Words and Conclusion

This Nokia’s phone is truly a business phone without any doubt. We have been waiting for this kind of set for quite a long now but it’s in the market now and you can really give it a go. The design of this set is gorgeous as it’s slim. It only lags back with its camera which is not up to mark. The price of this set is also reasonable. At the end I will love to buy this set, it’s worth every penny.
