Canon EOS 7D

The EOS 7D is the new top-of-the-range models of APS-C, but is more than a point midway between amateurs and professionals. In the 18 megapixel, 8-frames per second continuous shooting, and 1080p, Movie mode, is a professional camera itself. You can buy the body only in £1,500, or you can buy the new Canon 18-135mm Lens Kit for around £1,800.

5 things we like about the Canon EOS 7D

• Build quality is hard
• Design is ergonomic
• 8-frames-per-second shooting is impressive
• It records 1080p movies
• ISO performance is good

2 things we don’t like about the Canon EOS 7D

• From kit lens and JPEG processing its mediocre detail
• Exposure howlers

Canon EOS 7D Review

If you are a fan of cameras Canon, which is used as the EOS 1000D and EOS 500D, you can do, you will be surprised how 7D. These cameras can share the same size sensor, but otherwise is like comparing a Ford Fiesta, with main battle tank Challenger. The 7D is built to withstand the rigors of professional work, with a metal frame, aluminum alloy body panels and a locking device that has a life of 150,000 shot. As good as the camera is amazing 8fps continuous shooting? It can go up to 126 JPEG images into one, with the latest UDMA (almost) memory cards. But you cannot agree with the idea that the implementation of 7D goes around like a miniature munitions factory lobe. It is designed very own. It is both durable and stylish.

High speed download and to build professional quality is not all you get. There is also an 18 megapixel sensor – the highest resolution still camera than a full frame. That such a thing as fear – which could be the noise at high prices ISO; this is not really a problem. The 7D is a bit dodgy at ISO 6400 maximum, but otherwise is a game for the 12-megapixel Nikon D300, before the standards body in this area.

Then there is the video mode. It is based on Full HD a 1920 x1, 080-pixel, you will have full manual control of shutter speed, aperture and ISO, and you can even change the frame rate from the last question that you need.

Here’s the thing, though. Until today, Canon continues double digit growth for high-end APS-C size digital SLR cameras like the EOS 50D, and a measure for the full context of models like the EOS 5D and EOS-1Ds. Canon cameras can, what you call, but some photographers are included in the choice between the 7D and 5D confusion because there is not much difference in price. Others are even slightly annoyed that Canon is an APS-C model slipped to single digit range.

But it must be something more than complains about the name with the right mouse button? Well, yes, there are a few things. The 18-135mm Lens Kit is good, but so easily prone to chromatic aberration, and not very clear. If you really want to get the best from 18 megapixels, is likely to invest to get better quality lenses, RAW files, or both.

Even fancy new Canon IFCL light metering system seems Freak Out from time to time, causing an excessive burden on some Gegenlichtaufnahmen horrible. This does not happen all the time, but this happens quite often that you wonder if Canon has to get this right.

There is a structured field; shaking hands with both depth and around the thumb rest on the back of the camera and the Canon 7D is ideal for those with normal to large hands. Like other semi-professional camera, the 7D has two control wheels, just on the edge, and a large rotating dial on the back of the camera. The rear speed dial feature is all Canon EOS cameras high. It is a bit getting used to elect the classic control, but very quickly get used to it and is easy to spin. The call can be used to implement the regulations of the report to prevent the fast lock button again to make other changes, very useful if you want to keep the current settings.

The Quick Control Dial is the place where you normally expect from four-way controller, which means that Canon had a menu to get a little more control on the back of the unit. This controller works well enough, but not so good and as easy to use as a conventional four way controller to use. In 7D, Canon has expanded the capabilities of the joystick, can be used in conjunction with the new press Q to use the Quick Control screen. Depending on what recording mode you can use to define various parameters on the LCD screen with the joystick to move the options and the SET button to be able to change it. Working with initial recommendations on the EOS 50D and similar to the system is the Sony DSLR Alpha cameras used for some time, the screen quickly, especially well for beginners and is suitable tripod.

Over the Canon EOS 7D, placed over the status of large screen LCD, there are three buttons, each of which has two functions. Press a button, and then either on line or dial on the back of the appropriate framework for change. You need some time to remember which button does what, and what you choose to make a turn. The 7D also shows the parameters for the main display and a status LCD. There is also a smaller fourth button, which activates the system the LCD, the light, so you can use in the dark.

The EOS 7D AF system offers significant improvements, with some options entirely new system EOS. There is always the usual three Autofocus (One Shot, AI Focus and AI Servo), but there is a new AF sensor with 19 cross type AF points, each of which is a cross bearer Precision Sensor type. The central AF point is a unique precision, high diagonal pair of line sensors, which are used for greater accuracy when using lenses with maximum aperture of f/2.8 or higher.

The rear LCD screen offers a resolution VGA 920k pixels with fantastic, so you can wonder about them more often than you think. Allows the acute criticism of your photos with the LCD screen has a longstanding problem with the Canon’s entry and mid-court digital SLR. The optical viewfinder has been upgraded and now offers the best coverage of 100% compared to 98% of the 5D Mark II, 1,0 x zoom, and even a new Dual-axis electronic level, which provides a perfect frame to your photos (even in his head – LCD). New date for the system of EOS, a transmissive LCD is the viewfinder with superimposed various functions to offer, including points AF, spot metering circle grid and composition – all useful tools for the design of a firearm.

Final Words and Conclusion

The Canon EOS 7D has weaknesses, but it is a great camera overall. Look what – a metal body, a professional camera that shoots are at just exceeded two or three cameras, price, resulting in more categories resolution and high-definition movies. Nikon and the rest of the pack should be theirs.
