Leak: Microsoft Pink phones coming to Verizon, on shelves April 20th?

Details on Microsoft’s Pink phones seem to be leaking all over the place this week, and we just got a huge piece of the puzzle: an extremely reliable source just told us the two Sharp-made devices will launch exclusively on Verizon, with a possible street date of April 20th. We’ve also got two more photos of the Pure and Turtle — which are legit, as far as we can tell — and some info on the Pink ad campaign, which will indeed be targeted at teens and twentysomethings and centered around that “truly madly deeply” line Microsoft employees have been tossing around lately. (Sort of explains that 4/20 launch date, right?) Whether any of this is good enough to overcome the fact that Pink seems to be a limited featurephone platform launching into a world of cheap smartphones remains to be seen, but this thing is definitely happening. New pic of the Turtle after the break.

Update: We’ve just heard that Pink will be coming to Vodafone internationally as well — which explains why we’ve heard of both CDMA and GSM variants of the two devices.

Android 2.1 for Droid Eris leaks out

We’ve already seen a broken build of Android 2.1 for the Droid Eris slip out accidentally, but now the full package is available for installation courtesy of the fine folks at xda-developers. We haven’t tried it ourselves, but we’re told it’s working fine, and that snazzy new version of Sense is apparently quite snazzy and new. Of course, you’re risking your phone and all your data if you try this, so the absolutely smart and prudent move is to wait for the official update, but do let us know how it goes if you’re daring enough to load it up, okay?

Update: And just like that, it’s been ported to the Sprint Hero, although not everything works quite yet. You be careful, kids.

[Thanks to everyone who sent this in]

Motorola Devour in the wild once again

We’ve already seen the Motorola Devour in the wild once, but with the official Verizon launch right around the corner and pre-sales underway, it looks like at least one more unit has made it out into the world. Great — but we’d like a video of this thing and its mid-range processor running Flash, please.

[Thanks, Zach]

Some Droid Eris owners getting Android 2.1 update?

We’re not entirely sure what’s going on here, but that’s a shot of a Droid Eris running Android 2.1, and we’re told the update came over the air — a story seemingly corroborated by a couple other people around the web. Unfortunately, it seems like things aren’t quite fully baked yet: the update doesn’t include Sense UI, and it apparently wipes all your data and doesn’t allow you to log back into your Google Account. Verizon tells us that the Eris update to a “newer” Android is still in testing and hasn’t yet been officially released, so we’re taking all this to mean that there’s been a slip-up along the line — especially since this obviously isn’t final software. In the meantime, we’d say Droid Eris users should probably back up their sets just to be safe.

[Thanks, Vido]

Acer’s E110 Android / P300 WinMo phones unearthed by Bluetooth SIG

Ah, Bluetooth Special Interest Group, our second-favorite source for mobile leaks (next to the FCC, of course). Here’s two new entries care of Acer, both touchscreen devices with quadband GSM. The Android-powered E110 (pictured, right), however, also touts the AT&T-friendly 850 / 1900 frequencies and A-GPS. As for the P300, it’s got an unknown version of Windows Mobile, 802.11b/g, and Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR. That’s quite a bit of detail for two tiny entries — now let’s get Mobile World Congress started already, give Acer a nice platform to spill the beans.

Nokia Nuron spotted again, connection to 5230 cemented?

Dear Nokia fan clinging on to all hope that the 5230 and Nuron were two separate entities, whereby you’d have even more Espoo devices to look forward to: you’re wrong. TmoNews has picked up what’s purported to be another internal T-Mobile documentation for the 5230 Nuron. Like the previously-rumored leak, it’s said to be going on sale on March 17 with a 3.2-inch touchscreen, on-screen keyboard, and Ovi Store. Oh, and just in case you weren’t sure if you fit the target audience, see if you qualify as “connected socializers, 20 to 40 years old, who are new to the touch screen category.” That’s gotta count for at least a few readers out there.

[Thanks, Alex]

Current MacBook Pro SKU given mark of death in Best Buy database?

We’ll admit to not being leading the field of study in Best Buy-ology, but here comes a new quiz for us care of a tipster who sent TUAW a screenshot of the inventory screen that shows what looks to be the current MacBook Pro SKU with status: deleted. What that means is no new orders can be made for that unit, at least for that particular store. Sign of impending MBP refresh? Intel certainly had us riled up last month with that Core i5-infused flier, but we won’t get fooled again. Don’t hold your breath for this one, but if more telltale signs start popping up, we’ll be sure let ya know.

Update: Giving credit where due; the image originates from the MacRumors forums.

[Thanks, Jose R]

HTC Incredible caught on video rocking Snapdragon, Android 2.1 with Sense UI, and Verizon bands

The verdict’s still out on whether or not it’ll live up to its namesake, but the HTC Incredible is now officially out in the wild and surfing on Verizon’s frequencies. Pocketnow managed to obtain a few details along with a batch of leaked photos and video, so here’s what we’re being told: Snapdragon processor, Android 2.1 with Sense UI, 256MB of RAM, optical mouse pointer, and dual LED flash for the camera. The screen’s about 3.5 or 3.7 inches, WVGA resolution and possibly AMOLED. Traditionally shaky video reveal after the break.

[Thanks, Ray]
